Enclosed in this yearbook is 'The Lutheran Bible Institute Twenty Seventh Class Commencement, May 23, 1947' Program. All graduating classmates listed on the back. Very good condition. Waldorf University, founded in 1903 as Waldorf College, was a result of "The Great Hotel War of Forest City". This expression refers to a competitive battle between the only two upper class hotels of Forest City that were built at the same time. The end result was the Waldorf Hotel being left vacant after only four months of operation. The vacant Waldorf Hotel provided an opportunity for Rev. C. S. Salveson to put together the necessary resources in order to create a Christian college. Also, included is the foldout with the Warriors Pep Yells for Cheerleading! Bookplate on front inside cover is a ornate and beautiful bookplate with the owners name 'Ruth Wik'. Decorated endpapers and very whimsical character drawings throughout the book. This is a very clean and very bright 1948 The Warrior Yearbook full of exciting information for the year in the College. Dark Red or Brown, (flash), leather type covering and very clean interior with the usual writing you see in annuals.
