Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1918 First Edition Signed edition (daughter of author) "Greetings from the author's daughter Mary Jester Allen Director Buffalo Bill Museum, Cody, Wyoming" Inscription by Buffalo Bill's niece (the author's daughter) on front free end-paper. “Last of the Great Scouts: The Life Story of Col. William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill)” is a biography written by Helen Cody Wetmore, Buffalo Bill’s sister. The book provides an intimate look at the life and adventures of William F. Cody, better known as Buffalo Bill, who was a famous scout, showman, and one of the most iconic figures of the American Old West. "Buffalo Bill" - scout, pathfinder, hunter and Indian fighter was one of the famous frontiersmen who opened the West for civilization. The author's sister writes the whole story of his long career. She tells how he gathered together a company of plainsmen, cowboys, Indians, & horses and organized the famous Wild West Show. Zane Grey writes the foreword and conclusion. Very nice. Tan cloth with black lettering and design. Front cover discolored in some spots upper right hand corner. Book is in near fine condition. No jacket.
