Publisher: Poul Branner 1927 Scarce first edition 144 pages -- Approx. size: 9.5" by 6.5" Bengt Berg (1885–1967) Bengt Magnus Kristoffer Berg was a Swedish ornithologist, zoologist, wildlife photographer, and writer. He is best remembered for photos and movies of birds, taken on several expeditions. His avifauna photography is highly celebrated. In 1938, the internationally famous author, zoologist and nature photographer Bengt Berg from Kalmar bought the farm. Despite not finishing school and failing Swedish and science, Bengt Berg became one of Sweden’s best-known authors and zoologists. Bengt Berg may be best known for having the sea eagle and golden eagle protected by law in 1924 and for introducing the Canada goose in the 1930s. This first edition book shows in words and pictures of the bloodless, but often dangerous hunting with the camera. The seventy, partly unpublished, abundance of his material, which is also invaluable for science, inspire all nature and animal lovers, young and old, and get new to the thousands of Bengt-Berg readers. Beautiful leather binding on Spine and Corners with Golden leaf graphic on front with printing on spine. Believed to be first edition. Spotless interior. Fabulous photography. Covers show some slight soiling, edgewear and bumped corners and spine ends. One hard rubbed area 3/4s down on spine edge front. Very nice edition. Please see photos, enlarge and email with any questions. Thanks for looking. |
