Published by Cappelen, 1972 ISBN 8202026288 | 8202026296 Norwegian Short stories, HC - 131 pages, approx. 8.5" by 5.5" Although Bjørg Vik has written plays, novels, and children's books, her reputation rests mainly on her eight short story collections, two of which have been translated into English. Vik is known as a feminist writer, and most of her stories deal with women at various stages in life. An Aquarium of Women (Kvinneakvariet) is Vik's most overtly feminist work. Each section of three stories represents a different stage in women's lives. The first story ("Sunday 43") features adolescent girls learning about adult life. Fabulous find and a great gift idea for your Norwegian friend or your cultured own library. Very good condition with spotless interior and very nice dust jacket. Jacket does show minor wear to edges and a few small tears. Book is beautiful with decorated boards. Please see photos, enlarge and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking. |
