Enna Jettick wasn’t a person,
but a modern shoe line designed in 1926 by Fred
Light Emerson of the Dunn & McCarthy Shoe
Co. The popular “energetic”, affordable and
fashionable shoes were advertised in clever
ways, one being these Radio Call Letter Log
booklets. These were given out by the Oen
Mercantile Co. in Thief River Falls Minnesota.
Note light stamps at bottom of covers. Some
history: Oen Bros. Hardware 1898; Oen Mercantile
Co. General Store & Hardware 1908-1958
Catering to the Shortwave radio buffs. At the time Enna Jettick was a shoe brand, and the recording was meant as an advertisement. The "Songbird" sang on a radio series in the early 1930s. Enna Jettick made shoes and 3 other unidentified singers performed on the program "Enna Jettick Melodies" which aired on WJZ, and WEAF back in 1930. Enna Jettick survived the Great depression, but got out of radio. The company was still advertising their shoes in 1951.
Very good condition for the age. Near new. Slightly bumped corners. Clean interior with no writings inside.
