Size: 7.25" by 5.25" 148 pages Some history below: Harriet Monroe (December 23, 1860 – September 26, 1936) was an American editor, scholar, literary critic, poet, and patron of the arts. She launched the Poetry magazine on September 23, 1912 and was the editor until her death. Monroe played an important role in the development of modern poetry. Morton Dauwen Zabel (1901 – April 29, 1964) - A literary scholar born in 1901 in Minnesota Lake, Minnesota. According to the Poetry Foundation, he was "an important force in mid-20th century American letters." Black & white fabulous illustrations throughout by Janet Laura Scott (Born: 1888 Died: 1968). A prominent regional watercolorist in Maine Wonderful for the age. The corners, edges and spine ends show moderate wear. The book is showing a gift inscription from teacher to student.
