Publisher: Whittlesey House, 1961 First Edition; First Printing Melvin Berger & Frank Clark 176 pages -- Approx. size: 8.25 x 5.5 inches Illustrated by Gustav Schrotter. SELDOM are the laws of physics applied so pleasantly as in a symphony orchestra. This harmonious blend of art and science is explored by two teacher-musicians, Melvin Berger and Frank Clark, in an unusual volume, "Science and Music." The authors approach music from the scientific angle, explaining all about sound waves, pitch, resonance, etc.; the voice mechanism and different groups of instruments; and the workings of hi-fis, phonographs, microphones, and other sound equipment. The book is spotless and extremely nice for the age. Red decorated cloth covers. Some very minor bumped corners. The dust jacket is also nice but shows minor shelf or handling wear. Shows some rubs with corners and edges touched a bit with bumps. Please see photos. Please see and enlarge all photos and feel free to email any questions that you may have. Thanks for stopping in!
