Publisher: Highland Music; Hollywood, Calif. 1962 First Ed. Edited by Ruth N. Zwissler Measures approx. 9.25" x 6.25" -- 96 pages Beautiful book for the age. Near mint. This book has many illustrations. This work includes a wide range of material discussing all aspects of trumpet playing, such as breathing techniques, embouchure, tonal production, extreme registers, and intelligent practice procedures. All these divisions are large subject categories, which have subcategories accompanying them. It remains a significant book to this day and quite uncommon in the second- hand market. Irving Bush (1930–2009) has been associated with nearly every phase of the music profession. He has played with many name bands and orchestras including Dave Rose, Nelson Riddle and Harry James, and for three years was Nat "King" Cole's personal first trumpet player. He has performed for many motion picture studios including 20th Century Fox, MGM, Columbia, Disney, Universal, Paramount and Warner Brothers Pictures. This would be a fantastic gift idea for the instrumentalist in your life or for your own personal library. A hard to find and scarce book, specially in this condition. This is a classic with a description and analysis of how a trumpet should be played with particular reference to embouchure and breathing. You don't need much else as a beginner or intermediate player. via online review Again, fabulous condition with little signs of wear. Spotless interior. Please see and enlarge photos and email with any questions you may have. Thanks! |
