Originally, the song was titled "Army Air Corps". Robert MacArthur Crawford wrote the initial first verse and the basic melody line in May of 1939. During World War II, the service was renamed "Army Air Forces" due to the change of the main American army's air arm naming in mid-1941, and the song title changed to agree. It states on second page that you can substitute "terrible" instead of I believe "hell-uv-a" if desired. :) In 1947, when the Air Force became a separate service, the song was re-titled, "The U.S. Air Force". This is the oversized paper sheet music. Simplified version for Piano. 1943 Edition. Other than minimal signs of age and edge wear, no markings, the sheet music is in very good condition for it's age. Please see and enlarge photos and email with any questions prior to purchase.
