Publisher: Rinehart & Company, Inc. 1946 First Edition 246 pages -- Approx. size: 8.5" by 6" American conductor, educator, music critic, and composer Richard Franko Goldman (1910 – 1980) Few have contributed to the concert band field more than the Goldman family. Many credit Richard Franko Goldman with being one of the central figures behind the rather dramatic improvement of literature for band that occurred after World War II, and which continues to the present. This book provides important historical insights into the performance of serious music by winds and percussion including discussion of many of the important commissions and transcriptions and editions by Richard Franko Goldman and his father Edwin Franko Goldman. Beautiful condition for this hardcover. Clean unmarked pages with a soft bump or slight fold (?) to upper right very tip. Almost not worth mentioning. Jacket shows corner and spine end wear, few minor edge tears. Still very nice for the age and great display ability. Please see photos, enlarge and email with any questions. Thanks for looking. |
