Very special book from Military collector's estate. Signed and inscribed by author dated Dec. 1999. In the back of the book is a copy of the USS Bassett's Rescue Log given to book owner by author.

This is a compilation of oral histories of the rescue of 152 of 317 suvivors from the USS Indianapolis. LCDR Wren was a rescue boat officer pulling the men out of the sea. This is the first-hand oral stories of the men in the sea and of those who rescued them. It includes their stories, illustrations, and the words of those who were there. It also includes a brief history of the tour of the USS Bassett,APD73, and an insight to the life of sailors in this tragedy.
