Little Lord Fauntleroy is the first children's novel written by English / American playwright and author Frances Hodgson Burnett. It was originally published as a serial in the St. Nicholas Magazine between November 1885 and October 1886, then as a book by Scribner's in 1886. Not positive but I do believe this to be a first and original scarce edition. Does not show the press imprint. Pictorial brown cloth cover with gilt lettering on spine. Red and black lettering on front with gilt stamp of Fauntleroy and dog. Brown endpapers. Illustrated frontispiece with tissue guard. Newspaper clipping titled 'Little Lord Fauntleroy Dies - at 61' preserved on front end paper. Plastic protective covering. Considered very Good. Some slight edge wear showing. Tight and clean copy.
