Short anecdotes illustrated with wonderful black and white engravings, mainly social caricature by Thomas Nast 1840-1902. Very nice book for any library.

 Covers worn at the extremities with chips to the spine ends and edges, spine cover is seperated on one side but can be re-attached. Good hinges, foxed frontis and title page, very little other foxing, pages clean excepting a water stain bottom of page ends. Only minor shows on pages, no text or illustrations harmed. No names or other markings that I see. With all the flaws, still better than most found out there. Early and hard to find in this condition.
