1911 - Publisher's Press, Chicago Illinois 8 by 5.25 inch / 176 pages. The Chicago Club began in 1869 with a resolution passed by a group of prominent citizens to create a club for 100 select men. The first clubhouse was a mansion on Michigan Avenue, but when this was destroyed by fire in 1871, the club moved to 279 Michigan Avenue for two years, and then to the Gregg House at 476 Wabash Avenue. In 1876 the club built its first permanent home on Monroe Street across from the Palmer House. Fabulous genealogical and Chicago, Illinois history throughout! Standing members, Military members, Deceased members etc. Very good condition with bumped corners and some slight discoloring to back cover. No writing and very clean inside. Hard to find and rare edition. Please enlarge photos and feel free to email with any questions. Thanks for stopping in! |
