Publisher: First Lutheran Church First Edition 106 pages -- Approx. size:9 " by 6.25" Many years ago I found this in an Ada home that I purchased an old truck from. It's as found all those years ago and time to share as I'm getting older. The book is signed Mrs. Harry Stevens and dated 1937 on the front. Many fabulous recipes of the era from local folks, each named below their submissions. The advertising is perfect for anyone wanting to do genealogy or town history. Every page seems to have a business on it. Ada Motors, Water and Light Dept. Ada, Quality Groceries, J.C. Penny's, Simpson Garage, Bangs Market and even a Dr. Quirk Veternarian. The owner has many of her own additions and they look yummy. The Dumpling's on a ragged piece of paper is one I will be trying (can never get mine quite right). Butter balls look pretty tasty too! Fair to good condition for it's age and use. It was loved. The book is held somewhat together with rings but pages are loose as well as covers, but still looks complete. The back cover has taped, upside down page. For the next owner to decipher. Spotted with old drips and droplets from the cook (as it should be). Please enlarge all photos and feel free to email with any questions you may have. Thanks for visiting. |
