Publisher: Manitowoc, Wisc. White House Milk Co., 1939 Measures 9" x 6" -- 20 pages Sold exclusively at the A & P Stores. Illustrated blue paper covers printed in black and white; stapled. The White House Milk Co. was established in 1917 in Wisconsin to produce evaporated milk. It was acquired in 1922 by the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company. Includes a humorous poem about cows, "Scene but not Herd," by American poet Margaret Fishback (1900-1985). Contains many very good recipes using evaporated milk, including salmon pie with biscuit crust, finnan haddie supreme, gingerbread waffles, orange fudge, surprise cocktails, and prune nog. Very nice antique condition with some slight chipping to the corners. Toned pages and covers due to age. Staple binding. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
