The Camping out Series No. III
John C. Winston Co / James R. Osgood 1873 Hurst and Company, New York 7.5" by 5.25" -- 238 pages “Off to the Geysers, or, The Young Yachters in Iceland” by C. A. Stephens is an adventurous tale published in 1873. It follows a group of young yachters as they explore the geysers of Iceland, capturing the spirit of youthful exploration and adventure. This is a very action-filled, respectful, wholesome story. It is a true collectors 'find,' and would be great to complete the series.Tweed like cloth with bright graphic cover of boy with rifle by fire on cover including spine. Previous gift inscription 'Marion Parrish, Lake Chelan Nov 1 1912 From My Mother' on front endpaper. Some History on owner - Parrish, George Marion 20 Apr 1853 - 25 Mar 1929 buried FRATERNAL CEMETERY CHELAN, CHELAN CO, Washington. (The Comanche and a barge are shown clearing the Lake Chelan shoreline of trees and brush for backwaters from the Chelan Dam, which was being built on the Chelan River. Marion Parrish, who took this 1926-27 photo while the clearing operations were under way near Meadow Creek Lodge, was skipper of the Comanche at the time.) Very good for the age.
