The story of The Letter on the Tree follows a young French Canadian boy named Albert Caron, who lives on a small dairy farm in Canada. He is deeply in love with an accordion and wishes to have one for Christmas. To fulfill his wish, Albert attaches a letter to a Christmas tree, which will be sold in the United States. The letter reaches an American boy named Debert, who is also a fan of the accordion. The two boys share a bond and eventually meet in person, leading to a series of adventures and discoveries. The book is illustrated with drawings by John Kaufmann, adding to the charm and appeal of the story.
