This charming mid‑century edition of Hans Brinker or The Silver Skates was retold from Mary Mapes Dodge’s beloved story and illustrated by B.F. McNaughton. Published by Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin, it’s part of their “Story in 96 Pages” series designed for young readers. The bright orange and blue cover captures the cheerful Dutch skating theme, while the interior pages feature crisp typography and nostalgic illustrations.

A delightful collectible for lovers of vintage children’s books, mid‑century design, or classic tales of courage and family. Very good condition for the age. Spine shows a little wear but interior spotless. The front cover shows a dirt spot next to boy.  Toned only slightly due to age. Previous owners name on front blank page. Wonderful gift idea.
