The tragic account of the man who founded a colony on the Red River, a colony which threatened the fur trade routes of the powerful Northwest Company - the conflict destroyed the company, and ruined Lord Selkirk. The colony barely survived to become Winnipeg. Green and black decorative cover with a University of British Columbia - Medal for Popular Biography sticker on front. Very minor wear for age. Spotless interior, very nice jacket. Also included are two news clippings and the original bookseller's bookmark. Wonderful addition to any home library or history buff of Canada history.
