It is written to include information about logs to anyone who works with them in terms of finish lumber. From illustrations on loading logs on wagons, to a table of board measure this book is a very complete book of information in it's time.
It is illustrated with pictures, and tables. The table cover cubic measuring of square logs to plank measure. There is a useful section on the strength of ropes, another give the weight of a cord of various types of wood.
The book belonged to a person with the Blount Lumber Co. in NY. (See some notes on the company below). The penciling on the front blank page shows the previous owners name Grover Joyner of West Amboy Ny.

The Blount Lumber Company was established in 1894 by George R. Blount and his brother Andy. They used locally harvested timber to produce everything from furniture parts to mill work.
For many years, the company specialized in manufacturing hardwood flooring. The company closed in 1992.
This book is in good condition for the age, normal rubbing and fading on the front and back hard covers, good cloth covered spine, and good clean pages. Some edge wear around the hard covers edges noted.
A very solid, and useful reference or collectible book!
