Beautiful addition to your classic library or as a gift to the book lover in your life.

David Copperfield, described by Dickens as "my favourite child", marks a step change in the author's career, a transition from composer of popular, picaresque, comedies to great novelist. It now ranks as one of the great novels of the nineteenth century.

Charles Dickens David Copperfield is often regarded as Charles Dickens best and most popular novel even to English author Virginia Woolf who calls it the most perfect of all the Dickens novels. According to Eckel, With many lovers of the author's works David Copperfield ranks as the finest of his writings. With a book which gave to the world such characters as Betsy Trotwood, Micawber, the Pegottys and Mr. Dick. it would be strange if it had been otherwise.

Overall a very good book for its age. The cloth green cover is in very good condition with minor wear and rubbing on the corners and spine ends. Spine shows the most wear at the top edge. Maroon or brown endpapers. Note the newsclipping found inside of the poem titled 'Old Ben's Trust'. Interior is very clean albeit toned due to the age. Tissue covered plates.
