Publisher: Grosset & Dunlap / The Century Company - New York, 1928 First Edition - 3rd Printing 315 pages -- Approx. size: 7.5" by 5" Note the only writing in this book is notes regarding Hoover's place of birth, birth date and several mentions during Stalin and WWII, California. This is written on the title page. Otherwise book is in near mint condition with only very slight bumped corners. This is the story of the man who gained his idealism of unswerving integrity and spiritual quality from his mother; and his love of human contacts, his shy but unfailing sense of humor, and his interest in mechanics from his father. Hoover was a mining engineer working throughout the world and helped lay the foundation for federal regulation of radio broadcasting and commercial aviation in the United States. He was the 31st President, but was defeated in his bid for reelection. Please see photos, enlarge and email with any questions. Thanks for looking. |
