A distinguished explorer revisits the endangered peoples he has long known and loved (primitives of Africa, the Arctic, New Guinea, & the Upper Amazon). Lewis N. Cotlow (1898-1987) was an explorer, author and filmmaker. He served in the US Army during World War I and attended George Washington University. Cotlow traveled to Africa, South America, Indonesia, and the Arctic, the Amazon, Australia, and New Guinea from 1930s-1950s to film nature and indigenous peoples. His first technicolor movie was filmed on location in Africa and was co-produced with wildlife photographer Armand Dennis. Very good cloth covered book that is in near mint condition. Jacket shows some very minor handling wear, upper edge slightly bumped. Brown cloth with gilt spine lettering, pictorial dust jacket. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact.
