FB1491 Title Breeds of Dogs -- Author Sanford R Speelman Publisher United States Dept. of Agriculture 1934 46 pages - approx. size 9.5 by 6" Many graphics of wonderful dogs. Some you may have owned or own. The back page shows in graphic a Whppet in a great proud stance. This shows a blue stamp on the front cover that says " Sent to you thru the courtesy of Richard T. Buckler, 9th Dist. Representative in Congress " Provides information to assist the reader in selecting dogs for breeding for various purposes. Includes only the "best known" breeds. There are more than 90 different breeds in the United States, but this bulletin includes only those that are est known and most widely raised. Many of the breeds described are useful for such purposes as handling livestock, guarding the house and premises against marauders, and hunting. Other breeds are kept primarily as companions and pets. Originally issued May, 1926 and slightly revised September, 1934. The American kennel Club, 221 Fourth Avenue New York, NY also is prepared to furnish general information about dogs. This booklet is in wonderful condition for the age. Excellent novelty catalog for the Dog lover or historical document for the dog enthusiast.. Scarce ephemera. Bright and clear illustrations. Interior very clean. Slightly bumped corners.
