Very early pamphlet and gem
regarding agricultural history. Great for the
collector of poultry ephemera or as a gift for
someone in the business.
Hatten’s Golden‑Egg Strain S.C. Buff Leghorns run by Guy Hatten of West Middletown, Ohio, around 1926. Hatten was a prominent breeder and even listed as President of the American Buff Leghorn Club. His operation specialized in Single‑Comb Buff Leghorns, a color variety prized for both egg production and show quality. Guy Hatten appears in poultry‑breeding directories and show records from the 1920s–1930s, often associated with the Chicago Coliseum poultry shows. The “Golden‑Egg Strain” was his branded line of Buff Leghorns, bred for vigor, beauty, and high egg yield — a marketing hallmark of the era’s competitive poultry trade. This pamphlet is 8 pages long and has tons of information regarding the poultry business of the era. On the back is a list of satisfied customers from different states in 1925. Very nice condition for the age. A crease where folded at one time and rough exterior edges. Still very nice with great graphics. No writings. Please see photos, enlarge and email with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking. |
