Details

"Because of what you have done, the heavens have become a part of Man's World.
And as you talk to us from the Sea of Tranquility it inspires us to redouble our efforts to bring peace and tranquility to Earth."

Nixon considered his call to Armstrong and Aldrin on July 20th, 1969, the day they had landed on the Moon,
"the most historic phone call ever made from the White House." At his desk in the Oval Office.

Excellent collectibles for the Apollo 11 Space Flight and Walk on the Moon. Rare ephemera of two hard to find first issue? envelopes and the transcript of Nixon's Message.

All found as part of a collectors 'favorite stash' during a early estate purchase.

Envelopes measure approx. 9.5" by 4.25"
Transcript measures approx. 11 by 8.5" when opened. Will be sending folded as found.

The piece's are in very good condition with little or no wear to the transcript and very minor to the envelopes.
Posted on July 20th and 21st of 1969 and both stamped with the 6-cent Apollo 8 stamp that was issued May 5, 1969.
As Apollo 8 circled the Moon on Christmas Eve 1968, the astronauts on board read the first ten lines of the Book of Genesis to a massive worldwide television audience.

Please see and enlarge photos and email with any questions prior to purchase. Thanks
