Feuer auf Erden / Fire on Earth 1910 (evangelism lectures) by Fritz Binde

Publisher: Gottlob Koezle, Chemnitz; 2nd Edition (1910)
Language: German - 365 pages plus ad's

A beautiful theological book first written in 1908. This second edition is scarce. Note that at some point leaves were placed in a few pages.

Fritz Binde was a preacher of the communion movement and evangelist. Some history below;
Binde dealt with socialist literature and wrote contributions for various purposes; He also proved himself as a speaker at SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany) party meetings. Since 1894 he increasingly estranged himself from the party; he felt "disgust at the ruling and vengeful party rally and ... doubts about the social-democratic science". It followed the reading of Friedrich Nietzsche and Immanuel Kant, until he finally left the SPD.

After and illness, a vision of Christ as well as encounters with different Christians finally meant another turning point in Fritz Bindes life. Since March 1902 he has been staying in Rämismühle in the canton of Zurich for a rest. There he learned to preach and took first services in local community hours. After several evangelistic journeys he became preacher of the community movement for the waldecksche bath Wildungen and the closer environment in January 1903. In the summer of 1905 he was a member of the German Tent Mission and moved first to Siegen, 1909 then back to the Rämismühle. From 1911 he was on the road as a free evangelist and worked in the recovery home Rämismühle. In May 1914, the move to Riehen near Basel finally followed. He now saw his task in evangelizing in the big cities.

Beautiful bright colored cover with orange / red, black and white designs. Arts and Craft appeal with design on spine and white lettering. Interior spotless outside of the inserted leaves. Dedication in the front of book. Tight and intact. Covers show only slight bumped corners as well as spine ends and some white residue on back cover....may be cleaned. See photos.

Though it's only about the size of Texas, France presents an astonishing variety of landscapes to the aerial observer-each of which reveals itself in the pages of this breathtaking photographic journey. In 200 full-color photographs, Yann Arthus-Bertrand captures all the undulating curves and harmonious lines of this vibrant, verdant, sometimes rough but always generous land. Here is a France of green fields and red brick roofs, dotted with steeples and church towers, worn by the sea along its handsome coasts and rife with rolling hills. Here are the great French landmarks-the Pont du Gard, Notre Dame, Loire Valley castles, and Bordeaux vineyards, to name just a few, with accompanying text by journalist Patrick Poivre d'Arvor that makes each one come alive as if seen for the first time.

Yann Arthus-Bertrand is a widely renowned specialist in aerial photography.

Bright very good jacket with only minor edgewear, lower spine on jacket shows small tear. Book as new, very good and very clean interior. Beautiful addition to your library.

Publisher: Christiania, Norway: J M Stenersen & Co Forlag (1900)
Language: Danish / Norwegian

Book is written in Danish or Norwegian and has very cool illustrations throughout and maps at the end (see last photo). The Ananai (August 1951)

Publisher: Ananai-Kyo, Soft Cover, A Monthly Organ Of Ananai Cause

Ananai-kyo is based on a type of meditation called chinkon-kishin (literally, "quieting the soul in order to become the kami").

'The teaching (kyo) of the three (ana) and the five (nai)'. A messianic Shinto group founded in 1949 by Nakano, Yonosuke (b.1887). Ananai-kyo worships kuni-toko-tachi-no-mikoto and teaches a yogic-type practice of chinkon kishin, 'stilling the spirit to become one with the kami'. It has an ecumenical approach to other religions. The 'three' in the group's title refers to the teachings of (1) chinkon kishin (2) the form of Taoism taught in the 'red swastika' movement in Manchuria associated with Deguchi, Onisaburo who like Nakano was a disciple of the spiritualist teacher Nagasawa, Katsutoshi and (3) the Baha'i faith. The 'five' refers to the traditions of Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Islam and Taoism from which Ananai-kyo draws inspiration.

Softcover. Sound & good copy, light to moderate rubbing/edgewear to wraps, mild creasing. Japanese and English. Very scarce and hard to find
