Dimensions: 5.5" x 8" x 1"
Linda Carlton, Air Pilot  Published by Akron Saalfield 1931

The Linda Carlton series is one of the hardest series of which to collect a complete set.

Linda Carlton receives a brand-new airplane from her father for her high school graduation.  Linda is thrilled, and immediately signs up for flight lessons.  Linda had hoped that Ted Mackay would be her instructor, but Mr. Carlton forbids Linda from having anything to do with him.  Mr. Carlton has had problems with Mackay's father, and is certain that the son is bad as well.

Hardcover with original jacket. Jacket is good but does show some staining on inside edges and a few very, very minor tears. Book is good but same staining that shows on jacket is on edge of front cover. Note leaves in the rear of book. This has pages that are toned and the first blank page shows some minor open tiny holes. Otherwise very good piece of literary history.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin
By Harriet Beecher Stowe

Vintage / antique edition, copyright 1885 (note the missing 5 on Title page)
Published by Houghton Mifflin and Company / Riverside Press

Uncle Tom’s Cabin “the most important event in the world history of the novel.”  This phenomenal book ranks among the most influential writings of all time.

This volume is a hardcover, with 500 pages, and some pages of ads for other books at the back. It also includes an introduction by the author in which she displays letters she received by such well-known people as Charles Dickens, Charles Kingsley, Jenny Lind, James Thurston, and others who wrote to tell her their thoughts on slavery and how her book affected their lives.  In the introduction, there is a small stain at the top right hand corner. It goes away well before the novel begins. See photos. This is a very old and rare edition of Beecher Stowe’s important classic!

The pages are age-tanned but very clean.  The binding is tight.  There is a frontis with tissue guard.  The green pictorial cover has wear and fraying around the edges.
Dimensions: 8.25" by 5.25."

The History of Little Goody Two Shoes Welsh, Charles ~ Published by D. C. Heath & Co., Boston, Massachusetts (1900)

Goody Two-Shoes is a variation of the Cinderella story. The fable tells of Goody Two-Shoes, the nickname of a poor orphan girl named Margery Meanwell, who goes through life with only one shoe. When a rich gentleman gives her a complete pair, she is so happy that she tells everyone she has "two shoes". Later, Margery becomes a teacher and marries a rich widower. This earning of wealth serves as proof that her virtuousness has been rewarded, a popular theme in children's literature of the era. Illustrated in black and white

Antique Hardcover 8" x 5" 140 Pages

The front board is beautifully decorated and with very little wear to the printing.  Spine ends are bumped as are corners.  The binding is tight and all pages are in tact but some show minor soiling.  This book was a previous library book with a school sticker, District 35 Pennington Mn, on the front end board.

Duncton Wood Hardcover – March, 1980 by William Horwood First Edition

The central focus of the Duncton series is the Stone, a fictitious mole religion based on the standing stones and stone circles of Britain. As such, the novels are predominantly set in and around locales known for their megaliths, such as Avebury and Rollright. The titular wood itself is fictional, inspired by Wittenham Clumps and Wytham Woods (both near Oxford where the author was living when he wrote the first book) and borrowing its name from a village in West Sussex.
